Welcome to West at Work
What is West at Work?
West at Work is a partnership project aimed at supporting the economy by making sure that local people have the skills that employers need.
The project focuses on making sure that the local workforce will have the skills to meet the needs of nine key development sites across the West of England.
The partnership also actively engages with employers concentrating on the priority sectors that support the employment needs of the key sites.
Priority sectors are Construction, Retail, Public Sector, Financial Services and Hospitality & Tourism.
West at Work also focuses on Neighbourhood Renewal Areas so that people have improved access to training and opportunities that will help them secure local jobs.
The project is a partnership between the Learning and Skills Council (LSC), the South West of England Regional Development Agency (South West RDA), Jobcentre Plus, Business West, Connexions, Bath and North East Somerset Council, Bristol City Council, North Somerset Council and South Gloucestershire Council.
