How does it work?

Around £5 billon of investment will pour into new developments across the West of England over the next 20 years and it is vital that large employers coming into the area have access to a skilled and experienced local workforce.

West at Work is a partnership made up of recruitment, training, education and development agencies that aim to make sure that the skills and recruitment needs of large contractors and employers at key development sites are met.

The objective is to make sure that large developers can easily recruit local people and sub-contractors who have the appropriate skills to fill jobs during both the construction and operational phase of each site.

The partnership works with developers, employers, training organisations and communities to make sure that large scale development projects can be supported by a local workforce with appropriate skills in priority sectors.
